Part1-2 Unit2 Community Life教案-【中职专用】高二英

语同步精品课堂(高教版2021·基础模块3)

Unit 2 Community Life

Teaching Objectives:

1. Students will be able to comprehend and discuss the

topic of community life.

2. Students will learn the vocabulary and expressions

commonly used in community life.

3. Students will enhance their listening, speaking,

reading and writing skills through various activities.

Teaching Procedures:

Class 1

Step 1 Warm-up Activity: Discussion

As a warm-up activity, the teacher poses the following

questions to the class for discussion:

- What makes a strong and successful community?

- What are some benefits of living in a community?

- What are some challenges that can arise in a

community?

Step 2 Vocabulary Presentation

The teacher begins by introducing new vocabulary

related to the topic of community life, such as

neighborhood, resident, public services, etc. The teacher

then gives the students time to practice using the new

vocabulary in context.

Step 3 Listening Practice

The teacher plays an audio clip related to community

life, such as an interview with a community leader or a

news story about community events. The students listen and

take notes, then discuss what they have heard in pairs or

small groups.

Step 4 Group Activity: Community Survey

The teacher divides the class into small groups, and

assigns each group a neighborhood or community to research.

The groups research the history, demographics, important

locations and public services available in their assigned

community. They then present their findings to the class.

Homework Assignment: Write a reflection on what you

learned about community life from researching your assigned

neighborhood.

Class 2

Step 1 Warm-up Activity: Visualization

The teacher asks the students to close their eyes and

visualize their ideal community. What does it look like?

What types of services and amenities are available? What

kinds of people live there?

Step 2 Reading Practice

The teacher hands out a passage about a community

project or initiative, such as a community garden or

neighborhood watch program. The students read the passage

silently and take notes on the main ideas.

Step 3 Discussion

The students then discuss the passage with a partner,

focusing on the benefits and challenges of the project or

initiative described. They also discuss how the project or

initiative could be adapted to suit their own community.

Step 4 Writing Practice

The teacher assigns each student to write a short

paragraph describing a community project or initiative they

would like to see in their own neighborhood. They should

include details about why the project or initiative is

important, who it would benefit, and how it could be

implemented.

Homework Assignment: Research a community project or

initiative that has been successful in another neighborhood

or city, and write a short report on it.

Class 3

Step 1 Warm-up Activity: Review

At the beginning of the class, the teacher reviews the

vocabulary and concepts covered in the previous classes,

asking students to recall what they learned.

Step 2 Listening Practice

The teacher plays another audio clip related to

community life, this time with a focus on understanding

spoken instructions or directions, such as how to get to a

community center or where to find a certain service.

Step 3 Speaking Practice

The students then practice giving and following

directions in pairs or small groups, using a map of their

own neighborhood.

Step 4 Writing Practice

The teacher hands out a worksheet with incomplete

sentences or phrases that the students must complete, using

the vocabulary and concepts learned in the previous classes.

For example:

- One of the benefits of living in a community is

_______________.

- A resident of a community is someone who

_______________.

- Public services in a community might include

_______________.

Homework Assignment: Write a short paragraph describing

a specific public service or amenity in your neighborhood,

such as a park or community center.

Evaluation:

Throughout the unit, the teacher assesses each

student\'s participation in discussions and group activities,

as well as the quality of their written work. At the end of

the unit, the teacher administers a quiz or exam to assess

the students\' overall mastery of the vocabulary and

concepts covered.
