一、名词的同义词辨析

1．常作为考点的名词同义词

approach；method；way；means

approach,method,means,way和manner的区别

means / method / manner / approach / way 作“方式，方法”

means / method / manner为正式用语

⑴means指实现目的的任何手段，或使用某种交通工具的方式。

⑵method指有条理的，系统的办法，特别指新的办法。

⑶manner指特殊的或怪异的方式、方法，与动作有关。

⑷approach指待人接物或思考问题的方式、方法、态度，

常用approach to sth

⑸way的使用范围很广，但较多地用在具体的事情上或口语中。

常用way of doing / way to do

①This money wasn’t earned by honest means.

高考英语词汇：area，region，district 的区别

1. area是这组词中用得最广的，表示的“地区”可大可小，但通常不指行政分区：

I find the people in this area very friendly. 我发现这个地方的人很友好。

2. region通常指较大的地区，它既可以表示一个国家的行政分区，也可以指非行政分区：

The south east is the richest of England. 英国的东南部是最富有的。

Italy is divided into 20 regions. 意大利被分为20个行政区。

3. district 指相对于 region 稍小的地区，通常指一个国家或城市的行政分区，有时也指非行政分区：
