1.传统的介词功能：

最后，这个词也可以用词组in despite of替换，但常用in spite of。

little、few、hardly、rarely、seldom、scarcely这些半否定词位于句首，而且修饰谓语，在正式语体中，要求主谓语实行部分倒装，即little、few、hardly、rarely、seldom、scarcely+助动词+主语+谓语动词（动词原形或过去分词等），如果在正装的句子里没有助动词，就需要在倒装句里加上助动词do(does,did)来实现主谓语的部分倒装。请通过经典例句学习这种部分倒装：
