Software Upgrade Guide for LEXUS – 22 January 2014

Version 0.12

In order to perform a free software upgrade to use the Connected Traffic service

(Traffic information via the internet), the following items are required:

PC or Laptop with USB port, with a connection to the Internet.

USB stick.

NOTE:

The USB stick needs to be FAT 32 formatted, with a capacity of 1GB

or greater. The USB memory should be empty. . To check if this is the

case, or to get more details, insert the USB stick into you PC / laptop

and right-click on the USB icon.

Please note that the software should be downloaded to the ‘root’ file

structure of the USB stick, and not saved to any other directories or

folders.

STEP 1

From the Lexus customer portal (), go to the eStore (MyAccount ->

My Dashboard -> Downloads) and click on the appropriate download software

icon. Note that there may be more than one option if new software is available for

different Lexus models.

Follow the instructions provided in order to download the new software to the

USB stick.

STEP 2

On your Lexus Premium Navigation device, go to the Software Update screen.

This can be found as follows:

Insert the USB stick into the USB port.

TPlease do not insert any other memory device into the USB port – only the USB

stick used for the update should be used.

The system will detect that new software is available, as shown in the first image

below. Check whether the new software version is as expected (based on the

software selected from the eStore).

When prompted with ‘Start the software update?’, press the ‘Yes’ button. The

software will then be transferred to the memory of your Lexus Premium Navigation

device. This process takes about 5 to 10 minutes during which time you can

continue to use the navigation features.

STEP 3

To complete the software update, please turn the ignition key fully off / then to

standby. The subsequent software download operation step takes about 20 sec-

onds during which time you will be unable to use any features on your Lexus

Premium Navigation device.

Once this step is complete, you will be able to use the Connected Traffic service

on your Lexus Premium Navigation device. Please follow the instructions below to

activate the service:

Note: if you continue to see the following message on your device when selecting

Connected Traffic then the software upgrade has been unsuccessful. In this case,

please repeat the above steps.
